The Radiotherapy Service of the Hospital
San Vicente de Paul started its activities in the decade
of the 60's, becoming the first service of its kind in
the city of Medellin
In 1978 it receives an important contributon from the
National Cancer Plan , Phase I. A program that donates
to the Hospital a cobalt Theratron 780 equipment, an
equipment for superficial radiotherapy and diagnostic
equipments. By that time the educational activities
had already begun and the first radiotherapist from
Antioquia University were in training.
