The imaging Department of the HOSPITAL
UNIVERSITARIO SAN VICENTE DE PAUL started its activities
at the end of the 20´s with the importation, from
France, of radiology equipment. Since then it has been
one of the most important services, in the area of medical
diagnosis through imaging.
Its fundamental purpose has been to support the medical
diagnosis with imaging realized by clinical doctors and
surgeons. Besides, in recent years, it has contributed
in the treatment of several diseases through the use of
interventionist radiology. From its very start, it has
been in charge of the human resource formation, specialized
in this branch of medicine, and to the development and
investigation of new technologies.
