The Department of Hospital Epidemiology is a support area for the whole hospital in everything related to the Epidemiologic Vigilance, Clinical Microbiology, Pharmacoepidemiology and Research. The Department was created in order to realize a better vigilance and control on problems as nosocomial infections, obligatory notification illnesses, microorganism resistance to antimicrobials, misuse of medications, misuse of antibiotics, medication related problems as well as vigilance, control and research support.
