The Integrated Pain Management Program
of HOSPITAL UNIVERSITARIO SAN VICENTE DE PAUL is conscious
of the need to expand its services in this area of medical
progress, in patients´ needs and for the different
management agencies of the social security system.
This program began in 1981 with the creation of the Pain
Clinic and Palliative Care of cancer patients and has
been functioning permanently ever since. In the same sense,
it has given assistive support to hospitalized patients
with different diseases in which the symptomatology of
acute pain complicates the clinical status with implied
consequences for the patient and the family.
