The Hospital Universitario San Vicente de Paul was founded
on May 16th 1913 by Mr. Alejandro Echavarría Isaza,
who always thought “to found a huge hospital to
shelter all the sons of Antioquia and the rest of the
country that would need its services”
Geographically speaking it is the biggest hospital
in Colombia and one of the ones that has more hospital
bed capacity.
It is recognized for its medical and scientific advances
which have contributed to the development of medicine
in Latin America.
